Tips for Creating a Beautiful Patio Seating Area
With that little hint of spring breeze around, it’s the best time for one to step out of their living rooms and enjoy a cup of tea or sip on cocktails while enjoying the outdoors. But without a comfortable patio seating area, it’s all pointless. Right? That’s why we decided to share some tips on creating a seating area that isn’t just designed for comfort, but also an awesome gathering.
To start with, we have also included some ideas where you can repurpose and play around with regular furniture pieces lying around in the house. After all, it is not always important to bring a new furniture set every time you want to experiment with new decor.
Creating a vibrant outdoor corner
The patio or the rooftop of a house is actually a great place to get some time off for yourself. If you are alone, you can spend some time lying around here, enjoying the warm weather and treat yourself to a good book and some music.
A great way to make this place even more welcoming, is by adding vibrant spring colours and literally giving this corner a summer vibe. Bring in big, colourful cushions in different floral prints. Creating a seating corner in absolutely no time! Oh and don’t forget to get yourself a comfortable rug as well.
Go a little rustic
Since many of us like the idea of going vintage and rustic, why not add that essence to your favourite chilling spot too? While a lot of people think that bringing in rustic vibes is not all that simple, our designers suggest completely the opposite.
To go rustic, you don’t really need a lot of polished and shiny furniture around. In fact, you can literally pick up old furniture items and paint them yourself to give it that raw and rustic look. A tip here from our designers would be – go in for subtle and muted colours and stick to a single tone. Creating a theme is better than trying to throw in too many things.
Get those beach feels to your patio
Who doesn’t wish to be spending time at the beach after a long day? So what if you don’t have a sea facing house, you can still create that vibe in your patio. All you have to do, is go for the neutral hues. Add a dash of blue and some dim lighting, and voila! You have yourself your own little beach side corner to relax at!
And if you really want to get experimental here, you can also opt for some torches to light up in the night. A hammock, some fairy lights and good weather, perfect to take a break between the tedious weeks.
Turn your patio into a weekend sleep binge corner
Who doesn’t love a weekend where you can catch up on sleep and get recharged for the week to come? Well, instead of locking yourself in the room, how about enjoying the spring at the same time by creating a sleep-binge corner in the patio area?
Bring in a bed swing, a few cushions, a warm fuzzy blanket, a dim lamp and you’re done. All you need to keep in mind is the size of the swing – it should not take up most of your patio area, nor should be too small for getting comfortable. Our designers also suggest adding a few greens to the place to complete the vibe.
Boho is the way to go
If you like the bohemian vibes and that’s your idea of chilling, the patio is the perfect place to experiment and bring in that kind of decor. All you have to do is have an eye for everything bohemic. The fun thing about giong bohemic is you can always play with colours and patterns. No matter if they logically compliment each other, they ultimately always go with everything.
Go on and add colourful rugs, throw in some trippy patterned cushions, mix the colours and patterns and simply play with your imagination. You will very soon have a completely done Boho Patio in your house that you are totally going to love!
Your very own fairytale corner
We all love a little bit of magic in our lives, so why stay away from everything whimsical when it comes to home decor? Add a bit of this magical dimension in your patio area and you will never regret it; nor do you risk it clashing with the rest of the interior design theme.
Bring in some quirky outdoor decor pieces like that of a flamingo, opt for bright prints for your seating cushions and bring in some lighting that accentuates it all. What’s your idea of a fairytale that you’d like to live?
We often leave the patio area unattended and focus on the decor of our interiors. But the truth is, in times when there is literally limited outdoor spaces to enjoy, you should not shy away from creating and enjoying your own!
