Talking Interior Design With Rachele Cartechini
When we say we work with the best of interior designers from across the world, we mean it. Our interior designers come with years of international experience, working across different projects and delivering them with outstanding results.
This time around, we have another one of our designers joining us in India for some exciting projects and we decided to share a little about her over a tete-a-tete. Meet Rachele Cartechini!
Welcome to India Rachele! We’re all excited to know more about you and your work.
Rachele: So tell us a little about you and your background. Let’s start with when you were born, so we could celebrate together maybe?
I was born on the 20th of July, in Macerata. It is a small city in the center of Italy. After completing technical school from the building sector, called “Istituto Tecnico per Geometri”, I graduated in Interior Design from IED of Milano (Istituto Europeo di Design) in 2010.
Post that, I have collaborated with some of the biggest architectural firms. I have worked on complete interior projects for commercial, hospitality, residential, outdoor and indoor properties. In fact, I have also worked on stands for internal exhibitions and set-ups for events.
When did you realize that you wanted to get into interior designing? How did it all begin?
Rachele: Well, let’s just say I always had interest in interiors and interior designing thanks to my father. I always found his job very interesting. I think I got it from him!
When you take up a project, what is your approach to doing up or planning the interiors of the space?
Before any project begins, I observe the space and the preferences of the client. I want to be able to bring out the best of any space for the people who live there. I think it is not just important to apply that thought process in home interiors, but also workplaces. We spend a lot of our time there after all!
What is the one tip that you would give to homeowners who are redesigning or changing their interiors?
Rachele: When you move into a new space, your needs in life are constantly changing. For instance, you might want to be starting a new business or are awaiting the arrival of another child. The one tip that I give to anyone who is working on their interiors, is to first spend some time identifying their own needs and the personality they want to reflect in the space.
Whether they plan to do it all on their own or hire an interior designer, this is the one tip that can make or break the interiors you have imagined for any space.
You work on so many projects. From where do you get your inspiration? Are there any other designers that you follow?
I think most of what I do is inspired by my travel. I also usually go to the exhibition of “Salone del Mobile” in Milan. Lots to walk away with from there, I would say!
For those of us who don’t change their home interiors too frequently, what are some of the interiors trends that you recommend?
Honestly, I would say that varies for everyone. The interior design trend you choose for your space – your home or your office, should entirely be based on your personality and the vibe you want it to reflect.
We agree. Is it your first time in India? What is the experience like so far?
Rachele: It is my third time in India, actually.
First of all, I have met some really lovely people here. They are all my friends now. With each trip to India, I have also learned so many things and I go back home with an open mind.
I have seen so many beautiful places here – monuments, discovered precious stones, colorful fabrics and so much more. India always surprises me and inspires me!
We love having you join us here in India. But what are your thoughts on collaborating with Mansionly?
Rachele: I’m really satisfied with our collaboration because it allows me to work with an international team. It gives us professionals, and of course, the customers, an all new and unique experience.
Can you tell us a little about your projects with Mansionly?
Rachele: Well, there is a lot going on at the moment. I am working on a luxury project in Pune, a building for offices, a private villa and apartment in Gurgaon, and on the Fabrics Experience Center in Noida. To be honest, I got my hands happily full with really exciting interior design projects.
Don’t forget to keep a tab on their completion. Would love for you all to see them!
We definitely will and we’ll not forget to share your work with everyone we know. So when you’re not working on interior designs, how do you spend your leisure time?
I like to walk around a lot. I like to explore the places around me, to be honest. You never know where your next inspiration comes from or whom you may meet right around a corner!
The next time, we’re going to join you for a walk too!
It was great talking to you Rachele and it is always a pleasure working with you on different interior designing projects.
Now while we let Rachele get back to the awesome work she’s doing, and to our own, go ahead an explore all of her work on Mansionly, here.
