I left my hometown Vienna when I was 27-years old to move to New York City, the troughly multi-ethnical urban experience of our time. Here endless ideas of aesthic converged. Every style of fashion was either created or developed: the minmal, the opulent, the outrageos, the outlandish, the rediculas and the refind. At this moment of my life I have lost my enthusasim for the so called avangarde, which I see as the new bourgeois conformism. Reduction has been the iron law for decades. Purism has degenerated into the common place. I belive we have to, once again, to go back to our roots before we can allow ourselves to look ahead.
The purpose of hindsight is not to immitate but to contemplate. We have to revisit those values we thought exhaused. Classic concepts like proportion, harmony, intimacy and balance.
