Sculptural and fascinating, the coffee table Pylone is an art piece, exceptional piece it dresses with great originality the interiors of individuals and public spaces.
In 1992, Tom Dixon created the "Pylone" chair: a fascinating metal construction inspired by high voltage towers and bridge frames. In 2014, the British designer deepened his work on steel wire structures and enlarged the Pylon collection with a coat rack and a series of tables. Fruits of remarkable know-how in the machining of metal, these creations illustrate Tom Dixons passion for materials, technology and production. The Pylone coffee table is a design creation with geometric lines that gives a harmonious and balanced style with its steel wires. This light construction plays with transparency: the metal is transformed into an aerial, almost incorporeal material. The geometrical shapes s Intermingling with each other, creating volumes of surprising character. The copper finish of the steel brings a very chic dimension to this table. The thick plate of smoked glass elegantly contrasts with the structure of copper metal.
Tom is a restless innovator who works mainly in lighting, accessories and furniture. From his departure point in the early eighties welding salvaged steel into radical furniture, he has constantly reinvented himself through a series of different design lives – working with luxury Italian goods with Cappellini, Creative Director at Habitat and Artek, creating Plastics company Eurolounge and finally instigating his own eponymous brand in 2002 to rethink the product designer’s relationship with industry. The latest chapter of Tom’s design journey began in 2002 when he left corporate life to create his own eponymous brand as a platform for a series of new adventures in the design of products and interiors.
